Curriculum of the Agronomy and Horticulture program has been designed to achieve the goals of AGH Program as mentioned above and were developed after a series of comprehensive and in-depth evaluation on the needs of future workforce and involved inputs and suggestions from stakeholders through (1) academic workshops within the study program, (2) tracer study to alumni and graduate employers, (3) develop contacts and communication with graduate employers and work placements.
Most of the curriculum (69%) are specific to the Agronomy and Horticulture discipline, designed to provide graduates with the qualifications described in the mission and learning outcome of the study program.
In summary, the AGH curriculum comprises of 90% courses of major courses and 10 % of minor/supporting courses. Each student can choose minors/supporting courses minimal 12-15 credits. These minors/supporting courses were taken from other departments related to agronomy and horticulture. Minors/supporting courses are expected to broaden student’s insight into agriculture.
