Program Start Up industri IPB3S dan Teknologi IPB Prima Departemen AGH-Faperta-IPB untuk wujudkan program swasembada pangan nasional

In 2012 Rice Breeding group of IPB lead by Dr. Hajrial Aswidinnoor released a new type of a low land type rice varieties named IPB 3S. The new variety of rice have an average productivity of 7 tons / ha and potentially productivity about 11.2 tons / ha. The new type rice variety has less number of tillers (7-11 tillers /clump), however they have high number of grain / panicles (250-450 grain / panicles). Starting 2017 – 2019 Throught the strat up Seed Industry program, seed of the New variety has been spreaded to 26 provinces. Farmer get advantage as the use of the new variety could increase their rice yield  about 2 tons/ha higher compare to the previously used variety.
