PMB-2 Laboratory Clean-Up: Strengthening Collaboration and Governance
PMB-2 Laboratory Clean-Up: Strengthening Collaboration and Governance
Bogor, Indonesia – October 8, 2025. On Wednesday morning, the PMB-2 Laboratory at the Department of Agronomy & Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University, hosted its second collaborative clean-up event of the year. From 08.00 to 10.00 A.M. Western Indonesian Time, lab users gathered to carry out essential maintenance and organizational tasks aimed at improving the lab’s functionality and safety.
The clean-up activities included defrosting the deep freezer, checking and discarding unused samples, and a general tidying of the lab space. This initiative follows the first clean-up held in January 2025 and reflects a growing commitment to better lab governance and shared responsibility among its users.
Participants in the event included undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students who actively use the PMB-2 Lab for various research projects. Despite working under different supervisors and conducting diverse experiments, the lab members have cultivated a strong sense of community. This is fostered through a shared chat group where they exchange technical tips, discuss challenges, and support one another.
The lab is managed by Dr. Sintho Wahyuning Ardie, supported by Mr. Yudiansyah (lab technician) and four senior users who oversee daily operations. Under their guidance, the lab has recently introduced several improvements, including:
* Digital recording of lab access and equipment usage via QR code-linked Google Forms, replacing the previous manual paper-based system.
* Periodic coordination meetings to ensure smooth communication and alignment among lab members.
These initiatives aim to enhance transparency, efficiency, and collaboration within the lab environment. The clean-up event not only contributed to a safer and more organized workspace but also reinforced the spirit of teamwork and shared responsibility among the PMB-2 Lab community.
